What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Right now all images are uploaded with a status of public. Some of us would prefer to upload with a status of private. Please add a setting (similar to the article setting) allowing us to upload images as private.How does this feature request address the current situation?
This feature would save us time and from forgetting to set an image to private, By making it an option, then people can choose to use it or not.The Team's Response
Thanks for the suggestion! This is a good idea, so we'll implement it. In the meantime, you can use the mass-edit feature after a bulk upload to make all images private at once (or add artist credits or any other image-related operation): https://www.worldanvil.com/learn/images/mass-edit-image

on 2026-05-14 00:55I hate to get scraped by content thieves in the gap (however brief) between uploading an image and getting it set to "private". This concern has definitely had a negative influence on what photos and art I am willing to use with my articles.
