Fantasy-Calendar operates as a finely tuned and well-polished calendar application with a myriad of excellent and easy-to-use features. In contrast, I find the World Anvil calendar system somewhat frustrating to use, particularly as I have already been using the Fantasy-Calendar application for some time already. Transferring calendar data from Fantasy Calendar (FC) over to World Anvil (WA) is a tiresome and frustrating process.
Integration could occur in either of two ways (or both):
Fantasy Calendar JSON script is recognised by the World Anvil calendar Import function.
This would allow Fantasy Calendars to be easily transferred across to World Anvil. This is a feature that should already work, but because the JSON used by World Anvil differs in format from that used by Fantasy Calendar, the Import function does not work with FC.
Fantasy Calendar is added as a permissible item for embedding into articles.
Fantasy Calendar already features Discord integration, and can provide embedding at the click of a button in Java-Script format. If a feature is added that enables Fantasy Calendar embedding in articles, this would also resolve the issue.
Either solution seems like a simple enough addition. Functionality of this sort would make calendar use much more simplistic, and would keep all the world information on one webpage - World Anvil - rather than split across 2.
The Team's Response
Thanks for the suggestion! Converting the JSON would actually be the harder option. We're open to creating an embed, but we'd need to see more community support, so for now we're closing this. Note that we'll also be working on updating our Calendars to improve them and integrate them more with your world.
