  There already is the country option in the dashboard. Granted, it links to the organization template, but that's where it should go—a state is a political unit; it just IS an organization.

  Hi! I just started the adventure here on World Anvil, though hardly worldbuilding itself. First thing I did was enter the nations which populate my world. And there's a lot of them. I was very confused which one to use and very nearly left because of it! But I am still here and hope this can be an option.

  Literally everything this suggestion includes can be done in the organization template! How it is that this topic is returning regularly despite J&D giving all they can to help with the understanding of the concept?

  The first thing I tried to do with World Anvil was define the countries of my world and I discovered that was overly complicated given geography vs organization templates. It almost immediately turned me off to the product. I understand the desire for that level of granularity, but I believe a more simple options should be available.

  If you look at the list of available templates, it actually lists Country which is the Organization template.   "Countries are specialized territorial organizations concerned with the management of the citizens living in their territories (This is a secondary link to the Organization Template)."

  War declarations, peace treaties, and similar can be detailed in the Diplomacy tab of the Organization template.   And yeah, everything you're asking for is already in the Organization template.
