I would love this option with all articles. I don't always want to write an article just to name a organizations leader in its article.
After having recently gotten rid of article bloat created from this. I completely back this feature.
I agree with this. Sometimes, there isn't enough info about a character to warrant a whole article
I’ve been dying to flesh out the royal family tree, but I’m not quite ready to add over 50 articles just for highkings not really relevant to the current day.
Yes please! I've been putting off building out the grand genealogy of one of my older families because I don't have a good system to build the family tree with. And I'm not creating articles for every single member...yet.
After I had created a small family tree of just 4 generations, I no longer wanted to use the family tree tool, for exactly this reason. At the moment I switch to Maps, where I prepare the family tree beforehand using image editing, which takes ages. And I have tested org trees, but they also reach their limits with generations with several lines existing at the same time, because everything is stretched out. It would really be so helpful if family trees could be created without articles.
There are alternatives such as org trees or leaving the extraneous articles drafts, but it would be nice to not need workarounds.
Yes, I have some lineages that go back a 100 years, and creating a full character is a waste of time. I would rather have a small image and their relevant dates.
Totally get if this cannot be implemented, and it seems unlikely to me that it will be, but I'm gonna toss a vote in because this WOULD legitimately be helpful.
I have a similar problem with an imperial bloodline in my main world, and I'd love to have a more elegant way of handling this. However, I don't see an easy solution because the character information would still need to be stored somewhere. Implementing a second character storage alongside the articles would probably cause more trouble than it's worth.
I feel you, and I have the same problem with too many essentially empty articles for "unimportant" family members, however I feel like this may not be possible to implement?
I think this could be technically done with just the sidebar of the important characters, and skipping generations that don't matter (ala top tier, then 4 tiers down being the great great great grandson of X), but I would also like this feature.
Yeah, I'm only just starting to expand on my noble houses and royal families and it's clear that this will very quickly become a problem.
It'll probably be hard to implement but yes, please! I need this too.
I don't know how technically feasible this would be, but I'd absolutely love it as a feature if it was possible!
Yes please!!! I really enjoyed making a big family tree when the feature was released but now my world has a cluttered mess of character articles that I have no intention or need to expand upon.
