What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
I really like the whiteboards feature because I like to think in terms of causal flow for my plots, rather than just prose. I set up a big diagram of my story plots to elaborate how all the parts are connected. This is a gigantic mess and I don't manage to keep it clean because there are so many bits.
It would be neat if there were an auto-layout feature, for instance based on Graphviz DOT (or something similar). This is a tool for calculating layouts of arbitrary node-edge graphs and it can be integrated in other applications.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
Auto-layout would clean up the whiteboard massively.
What are other uses for this feature request?
I suppose all users of whiteboards that create nodes & connect them could make use of this.
The Team's Response
Thank you for your suggestion. This is declined as what is proposed here is advanced functionality for a node edge graph, and not what is intended for Whiteboards at this time.
