art attribution
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
We all know it's important to credit the images we use, whether they're homemade, generated, licensed, or commissioned. Art credit is even required when submitting to WA's official challenges. Yet many articles, including ones submitted to challenges, lack all image credit. I suspect this is partially because adding these credits is a multi-step process.
We add credit by filling in the Artist Name field on images, but we can only do that by editing the image
after it's been uploaded. This creates a two-fold problem: 1. it's easy to forget to make those edits later, and 2. many people don't even know it's an option. Out of sight, out of mind.
(Blanket attribution in the copyright footer is also great, I'm referring to cases where per-image credit is still needed/wanted.)
How does this feature request address the current situation?
Just as we can choose a Destination Folder, it'd be great if we had the option to fill in Artist Name during the image upload process.
- It'd help those new to WA or unfamiliar with image credits by putting the option front and center.
- It'd save us all from having to remember to go back and add credit afterward.
- It'd have no impact on those who don't need/want to fill in the field. They can simply leave it blank.
What are other uses for this feature request?
The image upload process should stay as minimal and streamlined as possible, but along with Artist Name, I could see Title and Tags being helpful to set during the upload process.

Thanks for your suggestion! We feel this would overcrowd this UI so this is declined.
