404-Error Customized-Error-Page World-Anvil Denied-Acess
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
We currently have the option to make custom DENIED ACCESS pages which is fun in lieu of the default “Multipass” Fifth Element Meme, but we do not have the option to make custom 404 ERROR pages.
Right now default to a reference with Smaug the Dragon talking like Gollum which is funny but not an ideal fit for every theme or genre of world on World Anvil.
Also, it is unclear with some users how the Denied Access page works. Some World Anvilite (including myself for a long time) believed that the Denied Access WAS the 404 Error page and then I got a rude awakening.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
This will let users customize their options and add flavor and fun to their own worlds.
What are other uses for this feature request?
This will help clarify the existing misconceptions on how the DENIED ACCESS page works
Follow up
My goal is to use my modified version of the "And I took it personally meme" for 404 errors

The Team's Response
Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, we have to decline it for technical reasons. Access denied error pages are handled by the world, which is why they can be customized. However, the 404 error is handled by the server globally, because it simply means that the URL couldn't be found. The server has no way of knowing which world the non-existing URL would belong to if it did exist, so per-world customizations can't be applied.
