What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Sometimes you want to give readers information before they get to the main article, like content warnings, introductions, or suggested prior reading. Right now, we have a full-width footer that goes below the default vignette & sidebar, but no full-width header to go above those sections. The Credits section can be used instead, but it can get tricky if you want to use it as an actual Credits section
and article foreword.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
Adding an article foreword content section to all templates will give people the option to include vital introductory information without hijacking the Credits section. If the writer has no interest in using it, they can simply leave it blank to no detriment, same as all other fields. Since it's only adding a field, not changing or removing anything existing, it shouldn't have an impact on existing articles.
What are other uses for this feature request?
Article intros/summaries
Content warnings
Recommended prior reading
Vital context
Estimated reading times
Status information (such as WIP)
