Tagged list of Images

[tagged:#] is an excellent tool for linking and organizing articles, and [taggedblock:#] helps us link and organize blocks. I would love to see a similar functionality for images.   To follow the pattern of the existing bb code something like [taggedimg:#] would be great. Ideally we'd have a way to pick between the image alone, or the image block. Maybe [taggedimg:#|thumb] [taggedimg:#|block]?   We do have some ways to show off images that are unique, like the image gallery you can associate with an article, and the image carousel. The image gallery is added after the metadata, while a tagged list would let us show off the images in any part of the article. The carousel only shows one image at a time, and is a good way to showcase several pieces of art, but the ui can get a bit too compressed with smaller images and sometimes you want to have all of the art visible.   I've currently been working on making galleries in my world to show off all the worldbuilding art I've done. Here's a link to one of them: Art of Mercury. When I draw more art, I'll need to manually update the gallery articles to add them in. If I had several galleries it would fit into, I'd need to update each of them. A tagged list would be extremely useful for making these galleries.   The tagged list would also be useful whenever you want to show off a set of images and have it be easier to update them. For example: showing off different glyphs or symbols associated with a language or culture, an inventory of items in a shop or owned by a character, portraits of different members in an organization, and so on.   If the images are linked to articles, they be used as an alternative navigation menu kinda like the books used for categories.

The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! We've decided not to integrate images into the tagged BBCode, but we will add an option to embed galleries as a grid (rather than as a carousel). The issue with the tagged system is that loading so many images at once can cause issues, so the implementation will only load a certain amount of images at a time (and have a way to load more if necessary).
