disk-size -pricing -ai external-drives
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
The current limitation for Grandmaster on disk is about 5 GB. There is no option to provide your own image storage and option to increase to 15 GB only for space is very expensive.
In the current world of creating images with AI by few prompts it offers for your casual merchants and shops in your world provide with dozens of images of every item for keeping your world detailed and well documented as your imagination can over the year "forgot" but if you create proper illustration, it can remain forever.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
I'd like to see option to either:
- Add custom storage ( Google Drive, MS Drive or others ) and manage our subscriptions on our own externally if that is some limitation from your technical side.
- Buy for way smaller price extra volumes for images as HDD are pretty cheap and you can get 40 GB volumes for 4$ on some cloud hosts.
- The easiest way to do is implement automatic optimizer of images for their needed sizes, as article image cover needs smaller image than AI such as Midjourney provide you, but manually compressing the images is extra work that can be used for better purposes.
Follow up
How is adding custom storage options or automatic image optimalization policy change ? I believe that is pretty much definition of new feature request. As I mentioned, I wish to NOT do the compressions manually as that takes time that can be used for more useful activities. If there would be API I can access, I can code the CRON on my own externally, but I was unable to find such endpoint.
Can you please direct me anywhere to get this feature done as that is limiting, annoying and in future I believe must-have for anyone ?
The Team's Response
Thanks for the suggestion! However, this is a policy change suggestion rather than a suggestion to implement a new feature, so we're closing this. I suggest using web tools like
tinypng to quickly compress images, if you feel you'll run out of space soon.
