Rare The user must spend a short rest (about 1 hour) with the shield while holding it, wearing it, or keeping it within reach while focusing on it. At the end of that short rest, attunement is complete Requires Attunement

Arrow‑Catching Shield

• Armor Class Bonus (Base Shield) — Grants the normal +2 AC of a shield when wielded
• Ranged Defense — Grants an additional +2 bonus to AC against ranged attack rolls. Total AC bonus vs ranged attacks becomes +4
• Arrow‑Catching Reaction — When a creature within 5 feet of you is targeted by a ranged attack, you may use your Reaction to become the target instead
• Shield Training Required — You gain the AC benefit only if you are proficient with shields
• Reaction Redirect — If an enemy within 5 feet makes a ranged attack, you can use your reaction to “catch” the arrow and have the attacker target you instead. This does not require the attacker to hit you — it simply changes the target of the attack.
• Don/Doff Action — Requires the Utilize action to don or doff
• Attunement Required — Must be attuned to gain its magical benefits
